Lethbridge Counselling Services (LCS) is a large counselling group practice located in downtown Lethbridge. The team consists of registered psychologists, registered social workers and other certified mental health professionals. LCS offers individual counselling, couples counselling, family counselling, group therapy and formal psychological assessment services to adults, teens and children, both in person and virtually. LCS is a large team of dynamic professionals with an emphasis on fostering a positive, friendly and supportive work environment.
The Administrative Assistant is responsible for processing high volumes of public and staff inquiries, in-person, via email and by telephone, and plays a key role on the team in terms of client engagement and support. They will respond to incoming telephone and email inquires, and schedule appointments for members of the LCS team. They will also provide key support in the office in the way of cleaning, tidying, restocking supplies and other related tasks. They require knowledge, skill, sound judgment and sensitivity in providing administrative services to clients and family members accessing counselling services. The position requires strict adherence and sensitivity to confidentiality. The working environment is varied with many overlapping needs and demands throughout the day requiring flexibility, creativity, and the ability to muti-task effectively. This role involves periods of sitting with repetitive hand movements, keyboarding, and telephone handling, along with some physical exertion, reaching and light lifting (not greater than 20 lbs) in performing cleaning and maintenance duties.
Hours of Work: This position is an on-site part-time, consisting of 15 hours per week with a potential for some additional hours, not exceeding 20 hours per week. Hours of work are Monday-Friday 8:30-11:30 am. This position does not allow for remote work and all hours must be completed in the LCS office.
Wage: $20.00 per hour
Minimum Required Qualifications: Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications:
Two years recent related administrative experience, including customer service, answering phones, and responding professionally to emails. Previous experience working in the area of counselling and mental health is preferred. Knowledge of mental health and community agencies for potential referrals or redirecting clients would also be an asset.
Completion of post-secondary education (e.g. course(s) in business administration, medical office assistant), or other related fields would be an asset. Experience operating multi-line telephone would be an asset.
